In my opinion, that’s all you need to know about Reacher. This is the fourth book in the series and I can’t get enough of Reacher. If I ever find a magic lamp, I’ll probably ask the genie to give me most of the Jack Reacher traits. The author is one of my favorite authors when looking for great entertainment and a break from more serious books. Child continues to create wonderful stories about a hero who seems virtually invincible but keeps me so interested in the outcome. It also touches on issues like sexual harassment in the military and turf wars by various government agencies that hinder rather than help solve homicides. “Running Blind” is about a serial killer who leaves no evidence or cause of death for the victims. There are no super hero serums or also the otherworldly attributes in the books. Another attractive factor in the plots is the author’s effort to keep the adventures grounded in reality.

The same cannot be said for those around him, including innocent civilians. At the time of writing this review, there are currently 24 Jack Reacher books. However, there are plenty of twists and tensions to keep the story fresh. I was quite pleased when I discovered the culprit halfway through the story. The violence used by Reacher is minimal and very focused on the mystery of how the killer kills the victims. Child has written a compelling adventure/mystery. It can be read independently of the other books in the series, but I prefer to read those collections in the order they were published. The book was published in 2000 and the World Trade Center makes a cameo appearance. Running Blind is the fourth adventure of Jack Reacher. He’s 6’5″ long, weighs 220-230 pounds, quite intelligent, very logical, deadly with the guns and also the body, highly decorated army deputy who really throws it away, and also lives by his own moral code. Child build multiple books around such an impressive guy? Child’s first Jack Reacher book, Killing Floor, after reading an interview about how the author created the character. You are not quite sure if you will come out alive, injured or dead. Interacting with Jack Reacher is like meeting a great white shark. Each of the women knew Jack Reacher, and it blinded him.
